Holbox
This full day excursion of all the best places around the island is specially designed for those who stay in Cancun, Riviera Maya, Playa del Carmen, Cozumel or Tulum and do not want to miss the opportunity to get to know the wonderful Holbox Island. Holbox, one of the world's beauties, is located in the extreme north of the Yucatan peninsula, in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. It is within the limits of the flora and fauna protection area called Yum Balam. To the east, it borders Cabo Catoche, and Laguna Yalahau separates it from the mainland. Holbox is 43 km long, and its fine sandy beaches are constantly adorned with seashells that drag in the jade-colored sea current that bathes the island. Holbox is only two hours from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and the Riviera Maya.
Then you will visit the island of passion where you can see the birds that feed on the lowlands whose crystal clear waters create a multicolored landscape. It is a small island with a view of the eastern tip of Holbox Island. In some seasons, you can see the marks of the turtles that come to make their nests. When this is so, there are areas of the island that cannot be visited.
Since ancient times, Holbox Island has been considered a place of extreme beauty and was used as a place of relaxation by the ancient Mayans. When the Spanish arrived in the 16th century, they found Holbox abandoned, but like its predecessors, who were amazed by its unparalleled beauty.
